Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use govern access to the website operated by the Ugandan Cultural Community of the Prairies (UCCOP, "we", "us", or "our"). By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

Website purpose

This website provides general information about UCCOP, Ugandan culture, community activities, leadership, partners, events, announcements, documents, galleries, and merchandise inquiries. Website content is provided for community information and is not professional, legal, medical, immigration, financial, or other specialist advice.

Acceptable use

You may browse the website and use its publicly available information for lawful, personal, and non-commercial community purposes. You agree not to:

  • Use the website for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, discriminatory, threatening, or harmful activity
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website, server, accounts, forms, or data
  • Introduce malware, interfere with operation, overload systems, scrape excessively, or bypass security measures
  • Submit false information, impersonate another person, or misuse contact details
  • Copy, publish, sell, or commercially exploit protected content without permission

Events and community information

We aim to keep event dates, times, venues, admission information, and program details accurate. Events may be changed, postponed, moved, or cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control. Please confirm time-sensitive details through the latest UCCOP announcement or by contacting us before making travel or other commitments.

Attendance may be subject to venue rules, capacity limits, safety requirements, photography notices, registration conditions, codes of conduct, or additional event terms.

Merchandise inquiries

The merchandise page is an inquiry catalogue and does not currently provide online checkout. Sending an inquiry does not create an order or guarantee availability. An order is confirmed only when UCCOP communicates acceptance, availability, price, payment instructions, pickup or delivery arrangements, and any other applicable conditions.

Unless stated otherwise, displayed prices are in Canadian dollars. Product colours, sizes, artwork, and appearance may vary slightly from photographs or screen displays. Any exchange, return, or cancellation arrangements will be communicated when the order is confirmed.

Copyright, trademarks, and community media

The website design, text, graphics, photographs, videos, documents, UCCOP name, logo, and other original content are owned by UCCOP, licensed to UCCOP, or used with permission, unless otherwise stated. Partner names, logos, and materials belong to their respective owners.

You may link to public pages and share unaltered links to UCCOP content. You may not reproduce, modify, remove credits from, publish, distribute, sell, or commercially use website content without prior written permission or another lawful basis.

Do not download, republish, identify, tag, or reuse community photographs in a misleading, commercial, discriminatory, or privacy-invasive way. For permission, contact admin@uccop.ca.

Information you submit

You are responsible for ensuring that information you submit is accurate, lawful, and yours to share. Do not submit confidential information or content that violates another person's privacy, copyright, or other rights. Sending a message does not require UCCOP to accept a proposal, partnership, volunteer application, event request, or merchandise inquiry.

Links to social media, funders, partners, community resources, registration platforms, and other websites are provided for convenience. UCCOP does not control or endorse every statement, product, security practice, or policy on those sites and is not responsible for their availability or content. Use third-party services under their own terms and policies.

Privacy

Our collection and handling of personal information through this website is described in the Privacy Policy. By submitting information, you acknowledge that you have read that policy.
